After ordination from JTS, Gladstein Rabbinic
Fellows apply
for a position through the Joint Placement Commission. If the
new rabbi’s emerged kehillah can afford to hire a full-time
rabbi, and if the kehillah and the Fellow come to an agreement
in accordance with the Placement Commission’s regulations,
then the Fellow may serve as that congregation’s rabbi.
Otherwise, the Fellow must work with the Placement
Commission to be placed at another kehillah. The Fellow will
serve there for at least three years.
